Senior Communications Counselor
Kathie has the trifecta of great work experience. She is highly skilled in public relations, public policy and science, which makes her an ideal fit for many of our technology and science clients. Kathie joined The Mathews Group in 2011 and her role continues to expand as she takes on greater responsibility.
In 2011, Kathie was part of a team that helped Lockheed Martin and the Council on Competitiveness launch the National Engineering Forum, a non-profit focused on providing solutions to some of the greatest challenges facing the engineering industry. She helped develop content from the ground up for all communications materials, including the group’s website and continues to provide communications support as the organization conducts a series of regional dialogues. She also manages work for Lockheed Martin’s net-centric integration and demonstration teams.
Before joining The Mathews Group, Kathie consulted for pharmaceutical and biotech companies at an award-winning healthcare public relations agency and handled high-profile global accounts at Hill & Knowlton in Japan. She also spent five years at the Society for Neuroscience promoting the cutting-edge research conducted by the group’s membership, and simultaneously pursuing a Master’s degree in Public Policy.
The Mathews Group is the perfect fit for Kathie. “The best part of working for the Mathews Group is my colleagues, who are extremely talented but understanding of the working-mom juggle,” says Kathie.
When she is not working, Kathie spends the majority of her time attending her children’s sporting events. Kathie also likes to bike and run to compensate for all the time spent sitting in the bleachers! A New York native, Kathie now lives in McLean, Va. with her husband and their two children.
