We are so proud of our very own Tia Over, who has been appointed to the board of directors of the Ameena Project. Tia has been volunteering with and doing pro-bono communications work for the Ameena Project for nearly three years. The Ameena Project is a U.S.-based, 100 percent volunteer-run organization with the mission of coming alongside talented and passionate individuals who are committed to working with the most vulnerable children in their own communities. Its primary project is a preschool in Kiang’ombe, Kenya.
“I so strongly believe in the ethos and direct impact that Ameena Project has on the lives of people in need in an impoverished region,” Tia said. “It’s a wonderful example of how focused efforts of a few can inspire the giving of many and, in doing so, raise a community.”
The organization is focused on enabling local leaders to do what is right for their community and equipping them to achieve their own vision for success. ”We are very pleased to announce this appointment,” said Ian May, president and board chair of Ameena Project. “Tia brings a deep sense of commitment to our organization, we are thrilled to have her joining us.”
In this new role, Tia will help guide the strategic direction for the Ameena Project, increase awareness and further the organization’s mission. You can sign up to receive their newsletter (which Tia produces) here.
